Great when it actually works

When the app actually works, its great. Ive used the recommendations and havent been disappointed yet. However, lately it seems like 80% of the time the app wont work. It will open, but if I try to click on a guide that Ive previously purchased, nothing happens. Also, why does the app need my location always? Or at all?
